Final decisions regarding the RES Act – a dialog involving the industry, Parliament and the Government

The draft RES Act, now examined by the Polish Parliament, provides an opportunity to establish a new order in the sector of renewable sources of energy, a sector which perceives legal uncertainty as a serious barrier for development. Specific provisions of the new law should undergo major modifications. The industry is concerned about the correction of the green certificate system, discrimination of the wind sector in the planned auction system and the need to establish a truly transition period.

- During the parliamentary stage and potential notification of the auction system to the European Commission, we are going to continue our effort to amend certain provisions that are discriminating for the wind energy industry, declared Wojciech Cetnarski, President of PWEA.

The lead theme of this year’s Wind Energy Forum is an in-depth analysis of the draft RES Act. The discussion on key parts of the new law and relevant amendments is expected to attract representatives of ministries and major MP clubs responsible for the legislation.
